NCDMM Welcomes Two New Alliance Partners

The NCDMM Board Approves SLM Solutions North America, Inc., and Tronix, LLC

Blairsville, Pa. — May 22, 2018. The National Center for Defense Manufacturing and Machining (NCDMM) proudly announces that its Board of Directors, at meetings held on May 8, 2018, approved the addition of two new Alliance Partners: SLM Solutions North America, Inc., and Tronix, LLC.

“In order to continue to advance manufacturing technologies throughout the defense industry, collaboration and innovation must remain at the forefront of NCDMM’s methodology,” said Ralph Resnick, NCDMM President and Executive Director. “Growing our Alliance Partner network with organizations leading in their respective fields enables us to successfully and consistently assemble multidisciplinary teams based on trust and a shared goal of developing the best solution for our defense customers. We proudly welcome SLM Solutions NA and Tronix into our Alliance Partner network.”

Based in Wixom, Mich., SLM Solutions North America, a subsidiary of SLM Solutions Group AG, opened its U.S. operations in 2012. SLM Solutions NA, Inc., is a leading provider of powder bed fusion machinery and applications development for manufacturing production for metal prototypes and manufacturing production and training for selective laser melting technologies. SLM Solutions focuses on the development, assembly, and sale of machines and integrated selective laser melting solutions for worldwide customers in a wide variety of industries, including the aerospace, automotive, energy, and healthcare.

Tronix, LLC provides a broad array of proven advisory and implementation solutions to manufacturers, distributors, and their supply chains for the development of state-of-the-art technologies/processes within those industries. Tronix is also an extension of Buck Helfferich’s, owner and president, 30+ years of experience in the field of electronic manufacturing and associated technologies. Headquartered in Latrobe, Pa., Tronix offers electronics manufacturing services (EMS) and electronics contract manufacturers (ECM) executive guidance in the form of business development support, manufacturer representation, IoT integration, and mergers and acquisition consulting.

NCDMM established a team of Alliance Partners to support the activities of the Center with state-of-the-art skills and capabilities. One of the unique features of NCDMM’s approach to the development and deployment of best solutions is the effective integration of the specialized and innovative skills, technologies, and practices of these organizations. Each Alliance Partner provides a significant manufacturing technology expertise that can be directly applied to the manufacturing issues faced by Department of Defense and contractor facilities today.
