Blairsville, Pa. — June 25, 2015. The National Center for Defense Manufacturing and Machining (NCDMM) proudly announces it has been awarded a $42 million Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract vehicle. The five-year contract vehicle is administered by the U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Command’s (RDECOM) Aviation and Missile Research, Development, and Engineering Center (AMRDEC) Manufacturing Science and Technology (MS&T) Division.
An IDIQ contract enables the Department of Defense (DoD) to efficiently utilize the manufacturing expertise of the NCDMM. It is the third such contract to be awarded to the NCDMM since its inception in 2003.

The NCDMM is recognized as a leader in delivering and implementing advanced manufacturing innovation solutions to defense organizations and their industrial base. Its history of success has saved the DoD more than $500M to date and has, in many cases, cut delivery times nearly in half. The projects conducted by the NCDMM have improved quality and extended service life of the component system and the process by which a given component system is supported. NCDMM’s efforts have also improved the skills of the workforce by the increased use of appropriate technologies and practices by moving from existing, and often outdated, practices to state-of-the-market and state-of-the-art methods.
