
Rhys joined NCDMM in 2024 as the Graphic Design Coordinator for America Makes. A member of the Communications Team, his role supports the organization in amplifying its brand and increasing recognition by developing visual content to shape public perception. He is responsible for drafting and designing new marketing materials and working closely with the team to help refresh current marketing deliverables, including websites, flyers, event programs, etc. while maintaining consistency relevant to the brand.
With over 25 years in the graphic design field, he most recently worked at NASA Glenn Research Center, where he served as one of seven designers providing graphic support for the entire facility. His responsibilities included environmental graphics, trade show support, internal communications, and technical support for research publications and grant proposals. During his five-year tenure, he worked closely with the scientific and administrative staff, earning a Center Award recognition for his work on COVID-19 communications during lockdown. Before his position at NASA, Rhys was the senior graphic designer for Performance Health in Akron, OH, growing his department to a seven-member team over six years. He began his career at LSI Industries in Canton, OH, where he created environmental graphics.
A lifelong resident of Deerfield, OH, Rhys received his bachelor’s in Graphic Design from the Cleveland Institute of Art.
