Blairsville, Pa. — August 13, 2019. The National Center for Defense Manufacturing and Machining (NCDMM) proudly welcomes Gino Spinos to fill the newly created position of Director of Manufacturing Engineering, tasked to lead the NCDMM Chambersburg, Pa. office, providing enhanced support to and greater engagement with the U.S. Army Letterkenny Army Depot and Letterkenny Munitions Center.
The Letterkenny Army Depot provides responsive and sustainable readiness for the U.S. and Allied Air and Missile Defense forces to support U.S. global strategic interests. The Letterkenny Munitions Center conducts regional and contingency distribution of munitions, precision-guided munitions maintenance and munitions demilitarization for U.S. Army requirements in support of all Department of Defense and international partners to provide readiness to the Warfighter.
As NCDMM’s new Director of Manufacturing Engineering, Mr. Spinos manages manufacturing, technology and road mapping programs, while maintaining and developing customer relationships. He will report directly to Jim Fisher, NCDMM Executive Director of Advanced Manufacturing. Mr. Spinos will also collaborate with Mike Docherty, NCDMM Director of Manufacturing Technology, based in NCDMM’s new Huntsville, Ala. office, providing support to the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (CCDC) Aviation & Missile Center in Redstone Arsenal, Ala.

Mr. Spinos possesses nearly 25 years of technology, process, and manufacturing experience from industry and military perspectives. For two decades, Mr. Spinos has focused to enhance Department of Defense capability, including to improve sustainability, compliance, efficiency and effectiveness; reduce costs; and transition advanced and next-generation technologies to best support the Warfighter.
Prior to joining NCDMM, Mr. Spinos served as the Director of Environmental and Process Engineering (EPE) at Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC). In this capacity, he managed the entire EPE portfolio, ensuring projects met and exceeded client expectations. Additionally, Mr. Spinos was tasked as the Program & Business Development Manager for ammunition responsible for improving manufacturing efficiency and effectiveness; complying and adhering to environmental, safety and occupational health (ESOH) standards; and deploying technological advancements to improve ammunition performance.
During this time, Mr. Spinos led a team that was the sole recipient of the National Armaments Consortium (NAC) and Department of Defense Ordnance Technology Consortium (DOTC) prestigious Outstanding Technical Achievement award for its innovative approach to manufacturing ammunition, ultimately improving logistics and the end products.
Mr. Spinos earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from California University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Business Administration from Saint Francis University. Currently, he is continuing his education by pursuing a Master of Human Resource Management degree also from Saint Francis University.
