Melissa Demetra

EWD Project Engineer

Melissa joined the NCDMM/America Makes team in 2024 as an Education and Workforce Development Project Engineer. She is responsible for furthering initiatives that advance the additive manufacturing workforce through education, engagement, and awareness. 

With a strong professional background in business and economic development across healthcare, manufacturing, and compliance, she is adept at driving growth and innovation to meet industry goals and objectives.  

In her previous role as the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber’s workforce development director, Melissa successfully managed two initiatives addressing workforce gaps through strategic partnerships with local leaders and educational institutions. She also spearheaded efforts to launch the Regional Workforce Coalition and provided valuable strategic counsel, critical analysis, and personalized customer service to chamber members. 

Melissa holds a B.S. in Environmental Science from Muskingum University, where she played varsity softball and was a four-year letterman recognized by the Ohio Athletic Conference and the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. She also serves as a board member at OH WOW! Science Center in Youngstown, Ohio.
