When America Makes, America Works

America Makes was founded in 2012 as the nation’s leading public-private partnership for additive manufacturing (AM) technology and education. The Institute convenes members from industry, academia, government, and workforce and economic development organizations to accelerate the adoption of AM and support global manufacturing competitiveness. Based in Youngstown, Ohio, and managed by NCDMM, America Makes was established as the Department of Defense’s National Manufacturing Innovation Institute for AM and the first of the Manufacturing USA network.

Founded in 2023, El Paso Makes is dedicated to advancing aerospace, defense, and advanced manufacturing sectors throughout the West Texas region. By prioritizing workforce development, educational initiatives, and business engagement, the initiative seeks to strengthen the national defense industrial base while fostering sustainable economic growth. Managed by NCDMM, El Paso Makes is strategically positioned to transform the region into a leading center of innovation, productivity, and opportunity.
