NCDMM Welcomes Three New Alliance Partners

The NCDMM Board Approves Fast Radius, Inc.; Indiana Tool & Manufacturing Co., Inc.; and Micro Craft, Inc.

Blairsville, Pa. — October 3, 2016. The National Center for Defense Manufacturing and Machining (NCDMM) proudly announces today that its Board of Directors has approved the addition of three new Alliance Partners: Fast Radius, Inc.; Indiana Tool & Manufacturing Co., Inc. (ITAMCO); and Micro Craft, Inc.

“With the addition of Fast Radius, ITAMCO, and Micro Craft into the ranks of our Alliance Partner Network, NCDMM is able to leverage our diverse network of leading and innovative companies to deliver collaborative manufacturing solutions to our nation’s industrial base,” said Ralph Resnick, NCDMM President and Executive Director. “Join me in welcoming these three organizations into our network.”

Founded in 2014, Fast Radius, Inc. provides industrial additive manufacturing, CNC machining, and plastic molding services from facilities in Louisville, Ky. and Atlanta, Ga. The company’s master plan is to “Enable Zero Inventory.” To that end, Fast Radius is developing leading-edge technology and process know-how to enable rapid manufacturing integrated to a global logistics network with unmatched supply chain expertise. Fast Radius is partially owned by UPS, which provides the company with tight integration to a global rapid response logistics and supply chain network.

With its beginnings as a tool and die manufacturer doing research and development for industrial OEMs in 1955, today ITAMCO has grown into one of the most unique gear shops in the world. Today, ITAMCO has more than 100 CNC machine tools located in its two Indiana-based facilities in Argos and Plymouth. ITAMCO’s capabilities range from the Department of Defense and mining gearing to production runs of CBN ground transmission gears.

Micro Craft, Inc., a 100% employee-owned small business located in Tullahoma, Tenn., is a producer of complex machine parts, sheet metal parts, and assemblies serving a wide variety of aerospace applications. Micro Craft uses high-precision, high-speed machining practices, utilizing CATIA and Solid Edge for design and CNC programming. For virtually every warplane flying today, Micro Craft produces highly complex space applications, test hardware, and wind tunnel models and safety critical components.

NCDMM established a team of Alliance Partners to support the activities of the Center with state-of-the-art skills and capabilities. One of the unique features of NCDMM’s approach to the development and deployment of best solutions is the effective integration of the specialized and innovative skills, technologies, and practices of these organizations. Each Alliance Partner provides a significant manufacturing technology expertise that can be directly applied to the manufacturing issues faced by Department of Defense and contractor facilities today.
