Objective
The NCDMM sends out a Project Call announcement annually, providing up to two million dollars of project funding support. Following is information regarding our annual Project Call. The NCDMM seeks proposals for projects complimenting our mission of delivering state-of-the-art manufacturing solutions to the Department of Defense (DoD) and its supply base. Proposals can simply identify a current DoD manufacturing priority that the NCDMM team would address, or define a project to develop and implement new manufacturing technology for a DoD application. This project call can be used by your organization to supplement available manufacturing engineering resources, and leverage multiple outside technology enablers through a single point of contact.

Selection Criteria
Project selection will be made by RDECOM and NCDMM personnel based on the following criteria:

• Effort/cost share (funding, labor, equipment, materials)
• Involvement of NCDMM
• DoD weapon systems(s) impact and need
• ROI in terms of cost reduction or lead time reduction
• Endorsements from PM, Technical Director and OEM
• Probability of successful implementation
• > 30% cost/productivity improvement target
• Ability to establish a baseline and track improvements
• Schedule and SOW “reasonableness”

Project Call
All projects selected will be managed by NCDMM to ensure that each is kept on schedule, on budget, and on pace to meet objectives. Regular meetings will be held with the project team. All results will be documented in NCDMM's standard technical report/success story format (to include weapon system impact, technology transfer, implementation and ROI) by the project team for publication.
