Improved Manufacturing Processes through Cost Effective Technology Transfer

The JUMPEDSM process is a collaborative initiative that leverages the use of the NCDMM Testing and Development Laboratory for the performance of complete turnkey projects. The effective transition of technologies to the factory floor provides many benefits to manufacturing and repair facilities including lower costs, enhanced quality and increased capacity. The National Center for Defense Manufacturing and Machining (NCDMM) has developed a practical and proven method to accelerate the effective implementation of manufacturing technologies at both maintenance and production facilities.

Transition begins with an awareness and knowledge related to a particular situation or issue, the progression through the development of a set of solutions, and the implementation of an “ultimate” solution to the satisfaction of DoD stakeholders.

Because of the importance associated with the effective implementation of technologies, the NCDMM conceived an innovative process – JUMPEDSM – to accelerate the deployment of “ultimate” manufacturing and machining solutions at DoD stakeholder facilities.
