Mark F. Huston

With over 28 years in the manufacturing industry, Mark Huston started his career with Warner and Swasey's Manchester Tool Division in 1979 as a Product Development Engineer while completing his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. His early product development efforts resulted in the industry's first patented, regrindable cut-off insert with repetitive chip-control configuration.
Mark joined the global tooling systems and service provider, Kennametal Inc., in 1981 as a Special Tooling Applications Engineer. Advancing through Engineer and Senior Engineering positions, Mark became Manager of Kennametal's Special Tooling Applications and Design Engineering Group in 1988.
In 1991 Mark was promoted to Manager, Kennametal Standard Product Engineering and in 1996 Director, Standard Product and Advanced Development Engineering.
In January 2000, he took on global engineering responsibilities as Director, Global Product Engineering including Kennametal's standard and special engineering groups in North America and Europe.
In 2003 Mark was appointed Director of the National Center for Defense Manufacturing and Machining (NCDMM), the government sponsored, Kennametal initiated Manufacturing Technology Center focused on providing Department of Defense (DoD) manufacturers with new technology, process development, training, and implementation support.
In July 2006 Mark was named Director of Kennametal's Global Custom Solutions business within the Metalworking Solutions and Services Group (MSSG) and was promoted to Vice President in July 2007.
In January 2009 Mark was named Vice President - Research, Development and Engineering for the Metalworking Solutions and Services Group, responsible for Standard and Custom Solution products.
Mark is a senior member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and has served as a committee member and/or chairman within the Association for Manufacturing Technology (AMT) and the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA). Mark remains actively engaged with the NCDMM, serving as a member of the Board.
Mark and his family reside in Greensburg, PA.
